My First Blog!!

I was raised in a family of amazing cooks and bakers. I wasn't into cooking and baking when I was younger, but as I got older I began loving the idea of cooking and baking. 90% of the meals or baked goods my family created were from scratch. I became more and more interested in cooking and baking when I lived with an Aunt. She was an amazing cook and an amazing baker. I couldn't help, but ask for recipes or tips for cooking and baking. Cooking wasn't as exciting as baking. My Aunt shared a few secrets with me and swore I'd never tell anyone. The one time I told someone a very important baking secret, they didn't believe me...and their cupcakes are still hard as rock. Oh well.....

I started with something easy, cupcakes! I still to this day make my cupcakes from a box, but shhhh, no one knows. :-) I began baking cupcakes for my office and I couldn't believe the amount of compliments I received. All I could say to myself was, "Those amazing cupcakes are from a box!" After a few compliments, I couldn't help but truly fall in love with baking.

I became infatuated with baking when my Aunt bought my beloved KitchenAid mixer. I still catch myself staring at it sitting on my counter. I couldn't get the mixer out of the box fast enough. Ever since I got that mixer, I've been baking non-stop. I recently volunteered to make 100 cupcakes for my step-son's school. I was so excited to sit down after baking and frosting 100 cupcakes. Although it wore me out, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

After my 100 cupcake adventure ended, I decided to start a blog. I wanted to create a baking journal for myself so I can remember every bit of my baking journey. I've always said my dream job would be to own and work in my own bakery. Maybe one day, but for now, I'm happy baking in my kitchen and learning new tips and ideas. This is definitely the beginning of my journey and I hope to learn a lot from my fellow blogging bakers. Cheers to the experience and the good times!!!!

Here are some of the 100 cupcakes I baked for my step-son's school.
